This Pediatric Care Center offers the highest level of services to the children of West Philadelphia. The facility is able to handle more than 45,000 patient visits per year. It is a core location for CHOP’s medical education programs and community activities. The project included a two-story steel and concrete structure with a masonry, stone, and curtainwall façade. The curtainwall is notable for its colorful polyethylene terephthalate (PET) windows which create a strong design statement.
The project has achieved LEED Silver Certification. Its sustainable attributes include permeable asphalt paving in the parking lot and walkway surfaces which reduces surface water run-off, and a rooftop solar panel system that generates on-site renewable energy.
