This mixed-use project consists of three distinct components: new construction of a 25-story apartment tower with 276 residential units, new construction of a 38,800 SF three-story office building, and a 12,600 SF renovation which added a daycare facility to the lower level of an existing cathedral. The 289,000 SF apartment tower, designed as a concrete structural frame with window wall cladding, includes 6,000 SF of two-story retail at the ground level, as well as amenity spaces and underground parking for residents. Located on the northeast corner of 38th and Chestnut Streets, the apartment tower provides spectacular views in all directions.
The new 38,800 SF office building was constructed concurrently on an adjacent site. It includes underground parking, as well as the loading dock for the new apartment building. The office building rooftop has a playground area for the daycare facility and a green roof for stormwater management.
The daycare facility is located in the undercroft of the cathedral, and connects to a 5,600 SF community center located on the first floor of the new apartment building. In addition to the renovations, façade and structural repairs were made to the historic cathedral.
