Although this restaurant closed its doors after three years, a high-level of craftsmanship was required for this Marguerite Rodgers-designed facility. Throughout Avenue B, exotic Wenge wood panels and terrazzo floors were installed. The bar was made of molded fiberglass-reinforced plaster resembling a fluted column base, while the over-bar soffit featured an oval fabric-draped steel structure accented by Wenge wood. The fixed windows were replaced by operable French windows, made in England, to create a “cafe effect.”
