The Holy Family Home campus, located in the Kingsessing neighborhood of Philadelphia, is a retirement home and convent that provides two types of living arrangements for low-income seniors: Skilled Nursing and Independent Living. By adding a new facility, renovating parts of the existing buildings, and demolishing the rest, the Sisters hope to meet the needs of an aging population.

Phase 1
The first phase of the project was the construction of a new healthcare center/convent. The building has a steel and cold-formed metal frame structure with a brick and EIFS façade. The campus, including the existing adjacent buildings, was fully occupied during construction.

Phase 2
The second phase included significant demolition of the existing 5-story building with substantial interior and exterior renovations. The stripped building received a new exterior façade, roof, MEP systems, a commercial kitchen, and a new building entrance. The chapel was renovated and extensive site work included an upgraded parking lot, a new rain garden, a security gate, and landscaping throughout.

Phase 3
The third phase of the project will include the complete demolition of all remaining existing facilities and the addition of new parking garage. Additional site work will include an outdoor gathering space and extra parking areas.
