The Curtis, once home to a renowned publishing company, sits at the corner of Philadelphia’s Independence Mall, “America’s Most Historic Square Mile.” INTECH renovated two floors of The Curtis into 23 luxury apartments, named Lyndon at the Curtis. Work on the 34,000 square feet of space included demolition of commercial office space, making way for new framing for the residential units. Because construction on the two floors occurred in an occupied building, strategic scheduling was required to allow installation of all MEP systems that connected into the existing building systems.
High-end finishes line all the new units, and exterior balcony systems with stone pedestal pavers adorn the 11th-floor outdoor spaces. To meet code, custom glass railings were designed and installed against the cast stone railings, making the exterior patios usable once more. With a prime Center City location on Washington Square, the residences boast unobstructed Philadelphia skyline views.
