Renovation to the Fashion and Textiles Futures Center at Philadelphia University was a fast-paced project completed in less than 14 weeks, including demolition of the existing construction. The project included total demolition of the existing interior space to make way for a new layout which consisted of all new MEP systems, custom unistrut hanging ceilings with a movable tack board system, custom built-in display cases and millwork, demountable partitions, an interior hidden roll-up door system, and special finishes throughout. A primary challenge to meet the aggressive schedule was coordinating long-lead items such as the demountable partitions and the hanging unistrut system. Aside from the aggressive schedule, another challenge was coordinating the installation of the new MEP systems while summer classes were taking place in other parts of the building.
