The Russell Byers Charter School planned renovations and construction of a new addition to their current facility at 1911 Arch Street. Through the addition of student classrooms, cultural arts rooms, a gymnasium/ assembly space, and a rooftop play area, the School hopes to expand its current K – 6th grade curriculum to include 7th and 8th grades, increasing its enrollment from 440 students to 700. The three-story addition will be constructed within the footprint of the existing below-grade parking garage, bounded by the current building, Cherry Street, and adjacent properties, creating a challenging site logistics scenario for the construction team.
